Cars passing at St Aubin.

From the Harbour

By Taxi: Simply ask the driver to take you to the Olanda Guest House, the High Street, St Aubin.

By Bus: The bus that stops just outside the Elizabeth Harbour Terminal does not take you directly to St Aubin. You will need to go to the Liberation (Bus) Station, either by taking the bus that stops just outside the terminal building (asking for a ticket to Liberation Station), or on foot. If walking, upon leaving the Harbour Terminal (Elizabeth Terminal), bear left and follow this road (Avenue du Port Elizabeth) until you reach a mini-roundabout. If you are already on the right-hand pavement, turn down the road on your right. If you are on the left-hand pavement, using care cross the road to enter the road on your right. At the bottom of this road, turn left. You will pass the Lifeboat Cafe and an obelisk. Continue along this road (it becomes a vehicle-free walkway) and turn right at the end. Continue along this walkway until you get to the pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights on your left. Cross the road when signalled to do so, and cross the square (Liberation Square), bearing off to the left. Proceed up this road (The Esplanade) and the Liberation Station is just a few steps up the road on your left. Once at the station, you can catch any one of the following buses, asking the driver for a ticket to St Aubin: Number 9, 12, 12a, 14 or 15. The journey should take about twenty minutes. Once you alight at St Aubin, cross the road with care until you are on the pavement in front of the ‘Checkers xPress’ Shop. Follow this walkway around the corner up the hill. After a few steps you will come to a cobbled street to your right, with the Trafalgar pub making the corner. Proceed up this street, passing the Wake Up Cafe on your left and some Guest Houses on your right. A little further up the hill on your left-hand side you will see a little drive with a large granite house with a staircase and white pillars at the start of it. Proceed up this drive, and take the first left turning a few steps later. Proceed down this path and you will find us at the end of the path.

By Bike or on foot: Although easier and quicker by bike, it is possible to make the journey from the harbour to our Guest House on foot. The bike journey would probably take around forty minutes, whilst on foot the journey may take around an hour and twenty minutes. Although relatively long, the route is mostly flat (hugging the beachfront) and free of motor vehicle traffic. Upon leaving the Elizabeth Harbour Terminal, bear left and proceed up the main road, going straight on (taking the second exit) at the first mini-roundabout you come to. If you are already on the pavement you will need to cross at this roundabout with care. Continue along this road (Avenue du Port Elizabeth), but before you reach the second, larger roundabout, take the opportunity to safely move onto the left-hand pavement. This becomes a foot and cycle path. Follow this path as it bears left, passing the large Waterfront buildings, until you are out onto the Waterfront area and can see the large upturned boat cafe (La Fregate) on your left. From here to St Aubin it is a mostly flat, mostly straight run. Continue along this route, staying in the cycle lane if on a bike, or in the footpath area if on foot. You will pass many cafes en route which might make a nice stop for refreshments! Once you are at St Aubin, dismount where safe to do so, and walk your bike round the bend where the Natwest bank building is and up the hill. After a few steps, you will see a cobbled street to your right, with the Trafalgar pub at its foot. Proceed up this road (crossing with care if necessary) bearing in mind it is a one-way street with traffic coming down the street, not up.

By Car: Upon leaving the Elizabeth Harbour Terminal, bear left and follow the road (Avenue du Port Elizabeth), going straight on (second exit) at the first mini-roundabout you come to and turning left (first exit) at the second, larger roundabout. Continue along this road – there is no need to change lane – and you will soon be in a two-lane road (Victoria Avenue). There is no need to change lane – simply continue straight along this road for about two and a half miles. Use extreme caution at the first Filter-in-Turn junction that you come to at Bel Royal (at the Hamburger bar) and again at the second Filter-in-Turn junction at Beaumont (at the Goose on the Green pub). Bear left at this second junction, and proceed along this road (Route de la Haule). You will come to a point where the road splits into two lanes – with one lane for those turning right – at La Haule slipway. Take this right-hand lane and turn right up the hill (Mont au Roux). Take the first left – this turning is signposted for the Olanda Guest House, as well as for the St Magloire Guest House) – and continue up this hill, staying left where the road forks into two. Continue down this hill (Rue du Crocquet/High Street). You will pass the Hotel La Tour on your right, followed by a steep grass bank. Just after this bank, there is a little drive on your right-hand side. Turn up this drive and then take the immediate left turn down another little drive. At the end of this drive you will find the Olanda Guest House.

From the Airport

By Taxi: Simply ask the driver to take you to the Olanda Guest House, the High Street, St Aubin.

By Bus: Take the number 15 bus that stops just outside the Airport, asking the driver for a ticket to St Aubin. The journey should take about fifteen minutes. When you alight, turn back around and follow the pavement up and around the bend to the right. Walk a few more steps up this hill and you will see a cobbled street to your right, with the Trafalgar pub at the foot of it. Proceed up this street (Rue du Crocquet/High Street), passing the Wake Up Cafe on your left and some Guest Houses on your right. A little further up the hill on your left-hand side you will see a little drive with a large granite house with a staircase and white pillars at the start of it. Proceed up this drive, and take the first left turning a few steps later. Proceed down this path and you will find us at the end of the path.

By Car: By car the best way to reach us is using the main road, directions for which are printed below.

On exiting the airport turn left (first exit) at the mini-roundabout and carry on up this road (Avenue de la Reine Elizabeth II), passing the rugby club on your right and St Peters garden centre on your left. Turn right (second exit) at the mini-roundabout and proceed down Beaumont Hill. At the bottom, turn right at the mini roundabout (filter in turn – please be careful at this junction) and carry on along this road (Route de la Haule) for about a mile with the sea on your left, then turn right at La Haule Manor Hotel ( water sports centre is on your left ) and then take the first left into Mont de la Roque. Continue up this road, then take the left fork into Rue du Croquet ( High Street ). Continue down this road, passing Hotel La Tour on your right and a steep grass bank. Where the cobbles meet the tarmac ( Berry Cottage ) on the right hand side, turn right and then immediately left. Olanda is now ahead of you.

Parking: Whether you hire a car or bring your own vehicle to the island, we offer six parking spaces in front of the Guest House for our residents’ usage. There is also plenty free and paycard parking in St Aubin.
